While working at McCann Erickson, a multi-national advertising firm, I helped built Microsoft’s Innovate On web site as the project’s lead user interface developer. The web site provides resources for developers all over the world who create software solutions using Microsoft technology, and because of the web site’s global reach, we localized it in a variety of different languages.

I used a CSS background image technique that allowed a background image to extend past the right side of the browser window without displaying a horizontal scroll bar. On top of the background image I embedded a flash movie with a transparent background. Using this technique allowed us to reduce the file size of the Flash movie, and seamlessly integrate the flash visual with the CSS background image.
